The National Evangelical Synod in Syria and Lebanon held its fifty ninth general assembly on the 23rd – 26th of November 2015 in Dhour Chweir Evangelical Center – Ein el Assis. The elections of the synod office were performed and the results were as follows: Rev. Fadi Dagher as President, Rev. Butous Za’our as Vice President, and Rev. Joseph Kassab as General Secretary. The Administrative Board and Executive Committee were also elected. The National Evangelical Synod in Syria and Lebanon consists of the whole of all Evangelical Presbyterian International churches in Syria and Lebanon from which a general, spiritual assembly is emitted to be the highest authority for these churches and all other subordinate institutions and administrations. Moreover, the Holy Bible is its reference in all religious decisions. It also has its respected, (moral) identity. The body of the Synod is divided into eight districts: four in Syria and four in Lebanon. These districts are named as the northern, the middle, the western, and the southern. The objective of this division is the representation in the administrative Board. The Synod assigns the churches of each district via the Administrative Board and the approval of the majority of votes of lawful members in the Board.
