The National Evangelical Synod of Syria & Lebanon (NESSL) hosted, for a week, a delegation from the Outreach Foundation (ORF), compromising the Rev Rob Weingartner – Executive Director, Marilyn Borst – Associate Director, and a number of pastors and leaders in the churches associated with ORF, some of who visit NESSL for the first time.
The delegation visited NESSL’s churches in Lattakia, Homs, Fairouze, Mharde, Yazdiyye, and Damascus, meeting with the pastors, leaders, and congregations there (NESSL’s General Secretary accompanied ORF’s delegation in their visit to Damascus Church). The delegation also visited NESSL’s centers for social and educational ministries for Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
The visit of ORF delegation ended with a visit to NESSL’s offices in Raabyi, Lebanon, where they met some of NESSL’s leadership. The delegation expressed their admiration with NESSL’s relief ministry in Syria, pointing out the transparency with which the Program is carried out, commending the courage of the pastors in Syria and their commitment.
Rev Weingartner, on behalf of the delegation, renewed ORF’s commitment to support NESSL’s ministry, and to convey their experience during the visit, and their impressions, to the largest possible section of the churches associated with ORF.
